ENDORSEMENTS

Representative Jan Dodge has received candidate endorsements from:

 Maine People's

Alliance

Janice,

After an extensive evaluation process, volunteers with the Maine People's Alliance Campaign Vote! PAC have voted to endorse 60 candidates for the state legislature who they believe share MPA's values of community, fairness and justice for all Mainers.

Each election cycle, volunteers evaluate candidates in state races and endorse individuals who show through their responses to questionnaires and interviews with MPA members that they share our values and will work hard to make Maine a better place.

We are proud to support these candidates as they seek to represent the people of Maine and we're ready to get to work to help elect these progressive leaders to the legislature.

This is a critical time. From recovering from the devastation caused by the pandemic to honoring the opportunity of this moment to address systemic racism, legislators elected this year have a unique responsibility to vote, act and lead based on progressive values.

Let's make sure we do everything we can to send these champions to Augusta this November.

Thank you.

Jim Parakilas
MPA Campaign Vote Chair

Honorable Janice Dodge,

On behalf of the Maine Education Association's Board of Directors, I am pleased to offer MEA's endorsement of your campaign to the Maine House of Representatives.

Our endorsement is based on your voting record during the 129th Legislative Session. We appreciate your continued support of our students and the professionals who work in our public schools. The Legislature plays a key role in shaping what happens in our schools. Your voting record shows you consistently vote to support students and educators, and we thank you for your efforts.

You should feel free to list the Maine Education Association as an endorser of your candidacy. If there is anything we can do to help you, please let us know. We will be working over the next few months to educate members about your candidacy and why you are the best choice for students, educators and public schools.

I hope we have a chance to work together with you again as a legislator to advance public education in Maine. Our schools, our students and our professionals face many challenges in the coming years. We hope to work with you to help make sure all Maine students have access to a top-notch education regardless of their zip code.

In Unity,

Grace Leavitt, President
Maine Education Association

Dear Rep. Dodge,

Congratulations! Because of your strong record of voting for Maine's environment, we are pleased to inform you that the Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund has endorsed your candidacy for the 130th Legislature.

Maine's extraordinary environment is the foundation of our good health, good jobs, and quality of life. We appreciate your steadfast vision and vigilance this past legislative session to conserve our natural legacy for future generations.

For over 30 years, Maine Conservation Voters has been making Maine's environment a priority for voters, candidates and elected officials. We promote forward-thinking conservation policies at the State House, publish the annual Environmental Scorecard, and endorse strong environmental candidates, like you! Our board includes members of both major political parties and we employ a full-time staff in our Augusta office.

We will also be posting endorsement graphics on social media next week. We encourage you to use these graphics as you see fit over the course of the election season.

Thank you again for your service to the people of Maine. We look forward to working with you during the next session to make Maine’s environment a priority.

With best wishes for a successful campaign,

Dear Jan,

Congratulations! I am excited to let you know that by maintaining a 100% voting record you have earned Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund’s endorsement this election cycle. This past session marked some of the most significant policy advancements for reproductive freedom in Maine’s history, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your support. We are proud to support candidates like you who are committed to protecting the right to make personal, private decisions about a person’s health care and pregnancy.

We will be notifying our supporters of our endorsements over the coming weeks and our campaign team will be encouraging voters who value our organization to support your candidacy along with other endorsed candidates November 3, 2020.

You may refer to our endorsement in your campaign materials, conversations with voters and utilize our logo (available at http://ppmeaf.org). Please list our organization as Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund PAC (PPMEAF PAC) and not simply “Planned Parenthood.” PP Maine Action Fund & PAC represent the political arms of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, which is a three state affiliate with health centers in Biddeford, Portland, Sanford and Topsham, serving more than 12,000 patients annually.

Thank you for your leadership on behalf of our issues. As we are invested in making sure our leaders are well versed in our issues, please know that you have a standing invitation to tour one of our health centers or to meet with public affairs staff to discuss policy priorities. I am also happy to share a new resource, the Reproductive Conversation Guide, available for candidates to help with conversations about our issues.

PPMEAF PAC maintains an incumbency protection program for endorsed candidates with a 100% voting record on legislation supported or opposed by Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund. Over the course of the next legislative session, we will notify endorsed legislators of upcoming votes. We will also make ourselves available as a resource should you have any questions or require additional information on PPMEAF’s position, which will always be consistent with our mission. Incumbent candidates with a 100% rating will automatically receive our endorsement for reelection. However, failure to maintain a 100% voting record will open up the endorsement process to all registered candidates in that race. If you have any questions about this policy, do not hesitate to contact me.

We operate a PAC to promote and preserve a health care landscape and a political climate favorable to women’s health. Toward this end, we will stand up for candidates who stand up for reproductive freedom. Congratulations again!

Best, Nicole

Dear Representative Dodge,

Thank you for your legislative service and thank you for your decision to run for re-election for the Maine Senate. Members of the Maine Service Employees Association, Local 1989 of the Service Employees International Union recognize the importance of public service and your willingness to serve.

Based on 4 key votes of the 129th Legislature, important to our membership, you have earned a score of 80% or higher on our legislative scorecard. The MSEA-SEIU Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the members of our Political Action by Service Employees and Retirees Committee adopted an automatic endorsement of legislators who scored 80% or higher, who are seeking reelection to the same office, and who are not running against another 80% or higher current legislator. This earns you an automatic MSEA-SEIU endorsement.

Again, thank you for your service to all Maine citizens, and we wish you the best in your bid for reelection.

In Solidarity,

Beth White
